W1: Measuring // Drawing Lausanne
The discovery of different techniques for measuring: the very traditional ones, as well as some experimental ones.
We explored the facade of Lausanne with our first 1:33 cast.
Through the monge and the analysis of the facade; we noticed the confrontation between the public and private spaces in our fragment. The floor from the private areas happens to be the roof of the public spaces. This observation lead us to rethink our cast and find a way to make this observation more obvious.
W3: New Casts // Paris 1:33 and Lausanne 1:66
The first floor happens to be a pharmacy: anyone is free to come in or out. The abolition of any kind of boundary on this floor helps us to create this impression of free way. On the other hand, private accommodations make up the second floor. The continuation of the windows creates a strong barrier with the outside and accentuate the contrast with the first floor.
This 1:33 cast of Lausanne allowed us to rethink the possibility of making a negative cast.
W4: New Cast
We focused on exploring the space connecting the two facades of our 1:66 hybrid.
