    W10\PLANES

Lausanne and Paris in relation and first space creation

Through different elements, the pedestrian is taken from the street in the arcade, by a special disposition and hight of the elements. He is walking, consciously or unconsciously, from a public space into a private one.

Researches for a concept - Axe Analysis

Introducing a +column in a space is not something anodin. It raises interest, because of the influence it has on the space around it. But before understanding, how the column influences the space, lets understand how the space works alone. Here an analysis of the axes of the streets Avenue Georgette and Boulevard Sebastopol. extension of comprehension through 4 vertical cuts.

The central idea of our project was to work on the notion of verticality, which we noticed was present on the facades of both sites. To express this verticality, we had the idea of creating a table constituted of vertical elements, in opposition with the horizontality which usually caracterizes the table.

Another key notion was the passage. Starting from this point, we made our table modulable: it allows passage in its highest position and provides it when it's down.

When outside of the global infrastructure, it takes both the function of a table but it can also become a bench. Both function create an anomaly in the rhythm of the street.

    / Passage
