PLANES

1. RESEARCH BOARDS AND MONGE DRAWING

This is the research board about the slopes relating my facade and the other plasters. A specific diagram was created by organising into a hierarchy the ratio hight/distance and by selecting only the positiv slopes. the projection of this diagram on the facade creats specific diagonal "planes". I also worked on the dead angles from the original measuring point (seen in project measures) to find out witch parts of the original facade could be remodeled by the planes.

This is the second research board on the understanding of the 3 spaces of transition created by the diagonal planes and 4 different point of view of the passage who makes it impossible for the traveller to know whats comming next in his travel through spaces.

2. 1:66 EVOLVING PLASTER

storyboard of the evolution from the basic idea of the "planes" integrating the facade to the final result.

3. 1:33 PLASTERS WITH INTERVENTION OF PLANES

this is the first attempt to integrate the planes into the facade. This model in final scale helped me answer some constructive questions such as how could I insert the plaster in te MDF column and how would the planes hold on the facade. The visualisation of the spaces induced by the two planes was also easier.

The different transition spaces connecting the different levels of the facade enhanced through light.

The planes are on one side a connecting element between levels and on another side a boundary cuting through the facade, separating it in spaces in witch the diagonal is either a roof or the ground.
We can also see that the feeling of oppression gets away through the ascension from the ground level to the top level.

different moments of the transition on the back of the plaster. the second threshold could be created thanks to the dead angle
