1. Birth of the project
I choose to work around the first plaster of Lausanne with the idea to create a community space between various apartments and develop a living facade.
1.1 First drawings
Monge 1:33 Axonometric projection and first trial 1:33
2. Mould and plaster
scale : 1:33
3. Research - work with the plaster/cardboard
I first studied how to work to organize the vertical distribution of the apartements using the angle created by the entrance in the super-element. In a second step I studied how to connect the vertical elements with the horizontal community space.
research drawings : angles of the vertical element and the form of the planes -plan 1:66
Plan of the plaster with the various vertical elements 1:33
Various vertical elements organisation 1:33
1st trial with the +column and the plaster 1:66
First trial with cardboard and planes 1:66
+column and the cardboard maquette 1:66
3.2 Last weeks
Research drawing : study of various height of the planes - section 1:66
research drawing : study of the integration of the plaster in the +column -
with use of a part of the column to form the vertical element - section 1:66
work with maquette and +column 1:66
4. Final Choice
I finally decided to work only with a section of my facade to show the best the imbrication of the two different elements (vertical and horizontal).
Final choice : Maquette 1:66
Final result : Plaster in the +column 1:33
To summarize all the developpment I choosed an axonometric projection to show all the different possibilities of location of my planes and the final choice.
