• ROOMS - FINAL

Par Nicolas Otti, Samuel Aeschimann, 21/03/16

Our final idea is to creat a hanging garden with zenithal opening in order to grow exculsively tomatoes.

A reasearch that directly influences the structure of our room has been made in order to creat the best environment for the cultivation of tomatoes.

    DRAWINGS

The asymetrical structure is due to the research of the right angle in order to have an optimum amount of sun in the inside space of the garden. This reasarch is depicted through the diagramme and drawings.

    MAQUETTE

The idea of a hanging garden has been translated through the structure since it is a structure that works only in traction. We therefore designed trusses to support the "room".

  • ROOMS / CONCEPT

Par Maude Voutat, Noe Herrli, 21/03/16

A suspended wall rises from the bottom to the top of the protostucture, forcing us to bypass it. Inside the wall is a room, of which the extremely narrow and vertical space reveals the full height of the protostructure, while detaching itself from its context.

  • ROOMS FINAL- Exposition of house 1

Par Mathilde Linder, Salome Stoffel, 20/03/16

    I. Description

Our project is a staircase in the middle of the proto-structure, consisting of different landings, which are used to expose the evolution of house 1.

    II. Concept

The basic idea of our project is to express the ambivalent terms "balance" and "embracement". Embracement isn't only the feeling of security but also restriction and confinement. Inspired by Walter Benjamin, we would like to express this ambivalence. By creating big sheltered platforms, on which you are well and safe, smaller ones on which you feel restrict and also uncovered ones, which are opened to the sky, we trie to express the notion of balance not only physically but also conceptually.

    III. Program

We decided to create a museum for an architectural exposition of the developpement of house 1. As the project is situated in the middle of the proto-structure, you can watch and admire from each platform the different projects which are around. Every platform can be used in a different way, to project Walter Benjamin's quotes, to show photos and to expose the best drawings and models. But the most important platform is the highest, which reveals the model 1:5, so it unites all projects. You can see this platform from the bottom, so it invites you to climb up.

The lower platforms are closed by cables, which permits to fix the drawings but also to close the space.
