• Final presentation - Week 4

Par Born François Nicolas Emmanuel, Terrien Romane, 21/10/16

Here is the final presentation of nearly one month of work. In this exercise we present differents strategics parts of our "working area". The goal is to describe at best the architecture of a spesific place of Lausanne: the Flon, but more precisely our choosen facade. We separate the facade in three differents stratas wich can help the understanding of the facade anchor in this area called the Flon. We also present five drawings which are: one final Monge projection of our choosen facade, two inside perspective of our strip and two outside perspective.

  • Measures - Exercise 2.3 - Week 3

Par Born François Nicolas Emmanuel, Terrien Romane, 20/10/16

In this exercice we cast three differents strata with the artefact of Zurich (here a bridge) passing inside one of it. We also reproduce a monge projection of our facade.

  • The Strata of the City

Par Born François Nicolas Emmanuel, 20/10/16

This first exercice help us finding were the architecture was changing in the city of Lausanne, more precisely in our area of work. Here eight draws relating this observation, that we use to call "strata".

  • Exercise 1 - Real size - Week 1

Par Born François Nicolas Emmanuel, Terrien Romane, 14/10/16

    Problem
By confronting the "artefact" of Zurich with the site in Lausanne ( Bel Air ), we confronted 2 different scales, two different cities, two different periods, two paradigms.
The challenge was to visualize the confrontation of scales on a real-size experience. For that , we drew on the spot the part of the bridge appearing on our assigned zone. Consequently, we developed a strategy on how to trace the curve of the bridge on our site.

  • Exercice 2.1 - Casting the void of the bridge

Par Born François Nicolas Emmanuel, 30/09/16

First exercice using the plaster. The goal was to create a 10 by 4 by 8 cm piece with the passage of a bridge inside it. We use the monge projection to reach this goal. Here the result:
