This is the painting I choosed to analyse, I found interesting the relation of the mirrors because we can deduce the missing part of the space easily. I think the specificity of this painting is the little spaces in front of the windows wich is something we don't see often these days. An other important thing to say is that the height of this room is very big and this gives an idea of the architecture period.
I think that the two plans that illustrate the best this space are the one which has a different level according to the ground and the one which givesthe height of the space. The first plan was for me a way to give importance to the little spaces in front of the windows because the difference of level makes this impression. The second plan is very interesting also because it is not only an ordinary wall but with holes and this creates an intimate space where you can see ladies drinking tea.
I choosed to make the ground out of a thin layer of wood (tectonic) because firstly I wanted to keep the same material as in the painting which creates a cosy atmosphere and it emphasis the fact that we enter in a new space. Secondly, I wanted to give the feeling of a massive wall with the plaster (stereotomic) to the other plan because this is what I understood when I analysed this painting.
Then I choosed to put the model on one side of the structure because the sticks that come out of the holes give the sensation of a long space as in the painting and they also create the ceiling and the ground. What is interesting also in this position of the model is that as the protostructure is not closed on the opposit side it doesn't shows the end of the space.
