Second section with details
Idea: When i see this painting, the notion of movement is for me very present. In the first plan, you can see a kind of double door, element that allows people to go from room to another one. In the second plan, we see stairs, element that is really related to movement. Third plan, we see another door. And finally, wee can observe for the final plan a room which is quiet unclear.
I also feel from where we are on the painting a kind of curiosity, an envy to reach this mysterious room in the background.
Furthermore, the room where the stairs stand looks dark and i feel like i wouldn't like to stay in this room, that's why it emphasizes the idea of just passing through this room to reach our goal (the room in the background), which is way more lightened and warm.
My goal with this project is simply to reproduce this space with the two elements by being able to express the feelings i have while watching the painting as discussed above.
On the plan On the section
Red is the ground (made of plaster)
Blue is the wall and entrance (made of wood)
The way i will use the wood is like it is shown below, a dynamic and circular shape that aims the double-door, which makes people want to move forward.
The idea was to create an object where you cannot use the table without using the window and vice-versa in order to have two elements which are strongly linked between each other. I wanted to use a system of mirrors for the window to allow people to have a view they couldn't have, that is why with a play of reflections, you could see what is behind the head of the seated person.
