• ROOMS - week 3

Par Jaton Doriand Andrzej, Karameta Lundrim, 26/03/17

For our last version of our project, we decided to focus on a place for exposing art sculptures and paintings. The idea is then to work on openings that you can configures to adjust the light income as you want it to be and that highlights the exposed elements. We also decided to have all the constructive systems outside, so that the inside is pure, the observer can really focus on the artistic elements and the light rather than focus on how we built our systems. In our project, the space is not very defined but the exploration is more in the space perception through the light.

    Access

People would access from the project of Madina and Alexandre. We also found a deal with Yonah and Alessandro in order to have their project above our passage with a confortable height.

    Openings

The openings are a strong part in our project, you can adjust them and they define the configuration of incoming light in our project. The particularity of our openings is that it let the light come in without giving attention to the view. We decided to work on two systems.

System one: Panels that you can push or pull. They are bigger than the holes, so that the person in front of the opening doesn't see a hole on the sides, once they are opened at their maximum (Drawing: Different Configurations). We worked with three different sizes to see to differences about the incoming light.

System two: The roof can be opened and the incoming light affects and has an impact on the wall.

We also tested it with a wall in relief

  • ROOMS - light tests

We continued to test different opening systems to explore more in deepness the light condition

Unfortunately, this test couldn't work in one to one, because if a person pull or push the panel in the middle, it won't move because the constructive system is only on the top of the panel, and a force in the middle makes it blocks. To make it work, we should have an other system at the bottom, but because of the ground it is not possible.

  • ROOMS - week 1 - first idea

Par Karameta Lundrim, Jaton Doriand Andrzej, 22/03/17

    Observations

As we observed, the place has some drab views, despite some interesting  urban elements which we want to highlight. That’s why our project consists to filter the most interesting urban elements with some frames in the closed room, that allows people to only focus on these elements.
