The main idea was to create a transition space between two spaces. In order to do that, I separated the infinite grid of the protostructure axis in two spaces, using an uninterrupted vertical plane, a wall. Then, I wanted to link those spaces with an element which interact with the user: a stairway. At the arrival of the stairway the platform create a new space, with a new view for the user. The shape of the stairs widens with the rise, which accompanies the widening of the visual perspectives of the inhabitant.

The steps separate from the wall, it causes the user to lose his landmarks when ascending to the platform. Similarly, looking at right and left, he can see the structure from above.  On another side, while descending, the stair is “pouring“ inside the second space.

  • PLANES | WEEK 12 | First plaster test

    Par Antoine Prat, 11/12/16

First test for the plaster walls. During demolding, a crack opened along the points of passage of the horizontal axis. To solve this problem, the points of passage will be created with sagex which dissolves with acetone, to create the cavities once demolded.

  • PLANES | WEEK 12 | Study on the evolution of the vision while climbing a stair

    Par Antoine Prat, 05/12/16

This series of photos was taken keeping the same point of view and climbing the steps one after the other. This tells the evolution of perspectives from the point of view of the user.

  • PLANES | WEEK 11| Creating movement and evolution of the project

    Par Antoine Prat, 02/12/16

This week, we focused on developing the project with the drawing as a designing and conception tool.
