In an other part of my work I decided to focus in the materiality of the door : to have 3 door in one. The difference situation modulate the space and its perception, create different atmosphere as we want.

1- It’s like we don’t have any door,

2- Door is like partition we don’t know the extension of the corridor. We have the impression of a stop and the only way is to go towards the room

3- Just a corridor, total abstraction of the room

4- In the corridor we see like an alcove and at the end of the tunnel we have a closed door

5- Every door are opened, like the 1- but we have different doors which can be closed or opened

  • PLANES - FIRST APPROACH

With the protostructure, I imagined a spatial proposition, with a large and high hall included in the six vertical wood. Where a small, more private and lower room communicated. With this proposition, I tried to highlight  the transition between the rooms and the crossing of a vertical planes, the wall.

The door, it’s the way to cross the thickness of the wall, to link two universe, to mix them. It’s presence and it’s movement delimitated the threshold, a real space between two, in the middle, an intermediate to be crossed.

To amplify the transition I materialized the threshold (1-2) in a real room, a sort of tunnel, as the movement of the door took the thickness of the wall with its in its opening.

                                                                               Space of the door

For my individual work of planes, I started from my cast of the interior space seen in the Hammershoi’s painting. Especially from our observation of the door, the connexion between the different rooms. We chose to cast different pieces fit together (the doors are represented by a quarter of a cylindre, like them representation in a plane put in volume).
