- Evolution of construction details -
During our ELEMENTS phase we've been working on a floating structure support by an external "arm" on wich we've worked with a totally different constructive system. My objective was to use the concept of this part (different Angle and the "two parallel beams system) to construct a space you can compare to a music segment and to underline the Repetition that create such a simple Rythm.
This structure into EPFL campus (left post) inspires me with the concept of Levitation. It doesn't touch the floor and from under the interstice creates a confort zone and a spot where man is totally immersed. Bruce Naumans work (right post) are in human scale, and on the ground, close enough to describe the athmosphere.
I've made first a Monge of my 3 planes and start to think on it with colors, I've use the red from the structure above and the green from Naumans work to define the difference between a stretchy and a more opened space. Then I've used this paper as a Research place where i would be able to work in and out a drawing scale. From geometric form to sketchy lines:
From there I'm now working on two vertical (but not orthogonal), parallel planes directly sustained by the protostructure and "floating" over a Horizontal that allows mouvement around. The form of phis plane is built around the symmetric Axe ofthe proto. The form is inspired by the structure of a "parterre" like the one in Theatre du Léman (Geneva).
