Voilà trois jours que nous sommes confinés dans les hauteurs genevoises. Comme en 563 à Tauredunum, un gigantestque pan de roche s’est effondré dans les Alpes. En une heure, un ras-de-marrée a déferlé sur le lac et ravagé les régions côtières. Avec mon appareil photo dans le sac, je pars documenter ce moment historique.
Je découvre la Jonction comme je ne l’avais jamais vue auparavant. Le barrage du Seujet a été emporté, mais un autre s’est formé plus loin avec d’innombrables débris, freinés par le viaduc ferroviaire. Le niveau de l’eau est monté et les courants ont évolué. Depuis le point de rencontre des deux rivières, je suis l’irréelle traînée d’eau bleue qui remonte le cours boueux de l’Arve. Soudain, sur l’autre rive, un drap blanc attire mon attention. En traversant le pont, je distingue derrière la voile les restes d’un bateau perché dans les arbres. Avant de réaliser que le théâtre où j’aimais à me rendre n’est plus…
Les semaines ont passé et la vie a repris. Les écoles étant toujours fermées, je décide avec quelques amis de récupérer le bois du navire et de construire une scène provisoire. En attendant que les acteurs reviennent, je me balance sur la voile et saute dans l’eau.

It's 10 pm, I enter the room after a hard working day. The large step at the entrance and the small dimensions of the room give me the impression of entering a cave or a burrow. Exhausted I sit on the side bench to remove my shoes which I place under it. I also put my backpack on the bench with the few fruits that I picked during the day. Ready to sleep, I lay down on the floor, exhausted by this day. Around 7 am, The sun begins to spread its light in the gaps under the walls. I wake up in the most natural way ever. I take some new clothes in my backpack next to me and I sit on the side bench at the end of the room. In the sunrise light, I eat the fruits that I brought back last night.
8 am, it’s time to go.
My first experimental drawings quickly led my project to be a bedroom. These drawings allowed me to understand the possibilities of cohabitation between the four square planes and the protostructure. The latter is not only a structural element since its position in the project allows it to delimit areas inside the room. It can also be as a threshold or a bench depending on its position.

The first version of the room was unnecessarily large. The new drawings made it possible to find solutions to decrease the volume of the room while adding spatial qualities like privacy.

The dimensions of the planes are modified to have a maximum of intersections with the protostructure. The horizontal plane breaks down into two planes to create a difference in altitude between the inside and the outside of the room in order to reinforce the feeling of interiority.

It’s 10pm, I enter the room after a hard working day. Exhausted I sit on the high threshold of the entrance to remove my shoes. Then I put my backpack on the bench at the bottom of the tilted panel. Finally I remove my jacket and I hang it on the pole at the entrance. Ready to sleep, I lay down on the floor, exhausted by this day.
Around 7 am, The sun begins to spread its light in the gaps under the walls. I wake up in the most natural way ever. I take some new clothes in my backpack next to me and I sit on the little bench at the end of the room. In the sunrise light, I eat the little breakfast I found in my bag.
